Apple is discontinuing this iPod Shuffle and replacing it (on March 12, 2009) with the so-called "improved" version... one that has the controls on the earbud cable! This is ludicrous. I do not like the standard earbuds that come with the iPods: they are uncomfortable and fall out too easily.
I prefer Sony's "wrap-around" earphones. And for my car, I just use a mini-cable to attach the iPod to my car stereo's input jack. You can't do this with the "improved" iPod shuffle!
I already have this type of iPod, and it still works wonderful. Battery life is fantastic. So why am I buying a second one?
