No screen. And if an album plays straight through, sometimes there is a slight pause during song-to-song transition.
But, I can use this all day without recharging and it clips to my shirt collar, waistband, eyelid, nostril, unmentionable body part, etc.
It won't skip. It rarely acts buggy. It even comes with decent quality earphones. Not Grado full size headphone quality, but they're essentially free.
And mp3 and apple aac compression is so good in 2009 that I don't really feel any need to use lossless encoding or break out a cd player.
They cost about as much as a cheap date and they never say no. ever.
Just buy one.
